Jessica Haile YP Member Spotlight - Nov.

November 8, 2018

Name: Jessica Haile

Where do you work? McMahon Surovik Suttle, P.C.

What’s your job title/what do you do? Shareholder/ Civil Litigation/Creditor's Rights Attorney

Where are you from? I moved to Texas from California, but I've lived in several states coast to coast.

If you’re not from Abilene, how long have you lived in the area and what brought you here? I have lived in Abilene since 2012 when I graduated from Baylor Law School and moved here to start my career as an associate with McMahon Surovik Suttle, PC.

What is your favorite thing about living in the Big Country? I love the culture of the Big Country. It's very rewarding to live in a community that is actively invested in the growth and development of the community and meeting the needs of the people living here.

What do you do in your free time? I currently spend most of my free time with my husband watching our one-year old daughter grow and develop and tending to the needs of our home and livestock. We have several sheep, a few goats, two donkeys, and four chickens that keep us entertained.

What organizations (non-profit) in town do you choose to support and why? Do you serve on any boards in the community or participate in any other groups? If so, what do you enjoy about your participation? I am a member of the Big Country 100+ Women Who Care. This organization is great because we gather quarterly and enjoy the company of friends while we listen to two to three non-profits in the Big Country pitch their organization and current projects; then, we vote and the organization with the most votes at the end of the meeting is awarded a check for the collective donations from the Big Country 100+ Women Who Care. I love being a part of this group because I enjoy learning about and contributing to non-profits and initiatives that I otherwise wouldn't know about each year.

What’s your favorite restaurant in Abilene? I can't pick a favorite restaurant, I love seeing all new restaurants that are coming to Abilene, the newest to pique my interest is Life of Pie (so good!)

What’s your favorite place to travel to and why? I enjoy traveling to new places domestically and internationally, but I love visiting the South the most (Georgia, the Carolinas, and Tennessee). I love the food and beautiful scenery that they have to offer as well as the opportunity to visit my family living in those states.
