How long have you lived in Abilene and what brought you here? I’ve lived here since 2011. I went to school at McMurry University where I was on the swim team.
What is your favorite thing about living in Abilene? I grew up in a small town of about 30,000 people. So when I first came to Abilene I thought I was moving to a big city, but what I’ve come to learn is it still has that small town feel that I loved growing up.
What do you do in your free time? Right now I’m studying for the CPA exam, so that takes up a majority of my time. In my free time away from work and studying, I enjoy spending time with my wife and friends.
What does being an Abilene Young Professional mean to you? For me, I think it is a great organization to be a part of. Especially for those of us who aren’t from Abilene. It’s a great way to network and meet other business people around the community. I’m often impressed by how many people Trey Todd knows. It seems like he knows everyone at the AYP events, so for me these events really help me know more young professionals around Abilene.
What organizations in town do you choose to support and why? The organization I’ve supported the most in Abilene is the United Way. I love that they support various activities around the community.
What’s the last book you read or what’s your favorite book? The last book I’ve read was a book called Morning Star by Pierce Brown. It is part of a trilogy of books called The Red Rising Series. I would highly recommend it.
What’s your favorite place to travel to and why? I really enjoy travelling to the beach. My family and I traveled to Port Aransas quite a bit growing up. We recently just completed another family vacation to Port Aransas. There’s just something very relaxing about being at the beach and swimming in the ocean.
