How long have you lived in Abilene and what brought you here? I have lived here for the past 14 years. My husband, Jody, brought me here. He was born and raised in Abilene and I just fell in love with this town.

What is your favorite thing about living in the Big Country? My favorite thing about Abilene is the community. It is very laid back and the people here are very friendly and welcoming. When I first moved here, people would say it’s a great place to raise kids and over the years I can say that they were right!

What do you do in your free time? I love to read both traditional books and audio books when I travel. I love going to the movies with my family, especially if it is a Marvel movie. I loved reading comic books as a kid, still do. During the winter months, I like to knit and crochet. Mostly scarves but I have made a few blankets.

What does being an Abilene Young Professional mean to you? Being an Abilene Young Professional for me means growth, not just for me but for Abilene. Networking with the other members and seeing all the great talent out there has been amazing. I am so happy to be a part of this special group.

Do you serve on any boards in the community or participate in any other groups? I am currently on the Hispanic Business Council Lunch Committee. As a Hispanic business woman living in this great community, I feel it is important to help promote Hispanic businesses and welcome others to network with the Hispanic community.

What’s the last book you read or what’s your favorite book? Winning by Jack Welsh. This one was such a great read. It is a down to earth book, with a lot of great advise for anyone looking to grow professionally. I highly recommend it!
