Business: First Command
Job title: Financial Advisor
Why are you working in this industry?
I wanted to make an impact and provide comprehensive financial planning to people in my community. I also served in the military, and now I have the opportunity to educate those who serve and make sure that Abilene’s military families have the financial security they deserve.
What are three daily habits that have helped you to become successful?
1. Keep my priorities straight, which are my faith, family, and to serve others.
2. Be engaged in the moment and enjoy every bit of it.
3. Be genuine and listen to wise counsel. Remember that nobody does it on their own.
What do you want to be doing in 10 years?
I want to continue in the same career, serving here in Abilene. I love this community and people in it. This has become my family’s home and we want to continue giving back to a community that has given so much to us.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Sometimes your best isn’t good enough. The only thing you can truly control is how hard you work.
What was your first summer job?
I worked as bagger at my local grocery store in Nebraska when I was 15.
If you were to give one piece of advice to someone starting out in your field what would it be?
Control what you can. Work as hard as you can, be genuine, and always put others needs above anything else. If you do that, you can always be proud of the work you do.
