Name: Jose Valenzuela

What’s your job title/what do you do? Owner; remodeling, landscaping and handyman services
Where are you from? Born in Amarillo, Texas, but spent most of my years in Roby, Texas.
If you’re not from Abilene, how long have you lived in the area and what brought you here? Abilene was my go to place from Roby, so I've been in the Big Country area my entire life. I've lived in Abilene for seven years. The size and familiarity are what brought me to stay and start my business here.
What is your favorite thing about living in the Big Country? The size and friendly people who live here.
What do you do in your free time? Ride my motorcycle or spend time with the family.
What organizations (non-profit) in town do you choose to support and why? Do you serve on any boards in the community or participate in any other groups? If so, what do you enjoy about your participation? Future Shapers and Action Ministries. Both are at ground zero, but I look forward to helping both impact and give back to Abilene. Future Shapers gives back to our teachers in Abilene by letting them know we appreciate their time shaping our future by molding our children to face this world. Action Ministries gives guidance to those struggling with narcotics and helps to repair, or upgrade the homes of the elderly, veterans, or low-income families.

Fun fact: I have three kids who are not triplets but were born on the same day - August 15th.
