If you’re not from Abilene, how long have you lived in the area and what brought you here? I’ve lived here for almost four years. I moved here to be close to family.
What is your favorite thing about living in the Big Country? No rush hour traffic
What do you do in your free time? What free time? I like to read, sleep, spend time with my dog (Sammy)
What does being an Abilene Young Professional mean to you? Being an Abilene Young Professional means getting to meet and network with different people. I also like that the events are at different places, so I get to see places in town I wouldn’t normally go.
Do you serve on any boards in the community or participate in any other groups? If so, what do you enjoy about your participation? I’m on the board for FWIT (Financial Women in Texas) as the Communications/Membership Director. I enjoy participating in it because they always have great speakers come out for our lunches and I have met some really amazing women in our group.
What’s your favorite restaurant in Abilene? There are so many good ones! Probably my favorite is Vagabond.
What’s the last book you read or what’s your favorite book? The last book I read was Gone Girl, but one of my favorites is Redeeming Love.
What’s something you’re passionate about and why? My undergrad degree is in music education, so I’ve always been passionate about music. I was in band growing up. I love going to the Abilene Philharmonic concerts when I can. Music has always been a huge part of my life.
