Fernando (Noe) Espinoza

Age: 39

Business: Boys & Girls Club of Abilene

Job title: Director of Operations

Why are you working in this industry?

I don’t see anything more important than children. They will grow and shape the world and what a blessing it is to be able to witness growth and maturity in them as they become young considerate leaders.

What are three daily habits that have helped you to become successful?

  • I spend time on self-reflection.

  • I am always striving to learn something new. Reading/ Studying

  • I try to remain steadfast in optimism.

Who is the person who most influenced you in business?

My dad.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Everything in life is an opportunity for growth. Once you realize that, there is nothing that can hold you back.

If you were to give one piece of advice to someone starting out in your field what would it be? Speaking to a middle school or high school student who may not know what they want to do, take time to explore the many professional opportunities that exist within Healthcare. The possibilities are endless, and sometimes it takes a bit of experimenting to truly find your passion. Once you find your passion, never stop developing it and investing in yourself.

Where will we find you enjoying your hard-earned time off?

Camping, hunting, hiking, playing/ coaching sports, running around the yard with my kids.

Describe yourself in one word.

If you were to give one piece of advice to someone starting out in your field what would it be?

I would tell them to love to learn and to be open minded. Stay focused on the good and beauty around them. I’d also leave them with a quote, “I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” – Albert Schweitzer
