Meet the Class of 2019!
Marcus Dunn
Age: 39
Business: Abilene Christian Sports Properties - LEARFIELD
Job title: General Manager
Why are you working in this industry? I chose this industry because I truly enjoy learning about a wide range of businesses on a strategic level and assisting them in reaching their marketing objectives through the passion, excitement, and traditions of college athletics. In the long run, I am blessed with the opportunity to assist in ACU’s mission of educating students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.
What are three daily habits that have helped you to become successful? Prayer, practicing gratitude, and being intentional about encouraging and developing those around me.
What is the best advice you have ever received? People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
What was the most significant hurdle you had to overcome to get where you are? After spending a decade in the telecommunication industry and transitioning into the sports industry, I was forced to step out of my comfort zone and express vulnerability in knowing I didn’t have all the answers. Looking back, I would welcome the opportunity to learn and be more curious. I would embrace being uncomfortable.
