Collin Heidenheimer

Age: 28

Business: First FInancial Bank

Job title: Vice President, Commercial Lending

Why are you working in this industry? Growing up in a banking family, I have always admired the involvement that bankers have with their community. It is a very rewarding career to help serve our communities and bring life to our customer’s thoughts, plans and visions; as well as giving them security in their finances.

What are three daily habits that have helped you to become successful?

  • Getting to work early and planning my day.

  • Writing down my goals and looking at them continuously to keep me motivated.

  • Live each day with the mindset of being sincere with every encounter.

What changes have you seen in Abilene during your career? What changes would you like to see?

A big change I have seen during my career is the growth of Abilene and the continued community involvement. Abilene is such a wonderful community and I strongly believe it is so important for us to continue reaching out and serving our town the best we can. I would like to see the younger generations who have moved to or back to Abilene get more involved. There are so many wonderful organizations that need new volunteers and board members. A new set of ideas and perspectives would be a great addition to many organizations.

What was your first summer job?

My first summer job was when I was 12 years old. Growing up, my family and I spent our summers down on the coast of South Padre Island where I would deckhand on offshore charter boats..

Where will we find you enjoying your hard-earned time off?

I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and son, whether that is at home, the zoo, or out enjoying restaurants in Abilene. I also like to play golf, hunt and be outdoors.

Describe yourself in one word.

If you were to give one piece of advice to someone starting out in your field what would it be?

To always show up to work with a positive attitude and be willing to listen and learn.
