Business: Midway Plumbing
Job title: General Manager
Who is the person who most influenced you in business? David Ratliff, this man has influenced me more than he will ever know. He strives to be a leader in this industry; always learning new was to improve the plumbing trade. He has taught me so much in business and is by far the best mentor I have ever had.
What was the most significant hurdle you had to overcome to get where you are? How would you address this hurdle today? I'm sure you could guess this one, being a female in a male-dominated trade provided many hurdles. In the beginning, it was frustrating, but I just kept my head down and pushed forward. Now that I've been in this industry for ten years; I've earned a lot of respect from my peers. As I've learned the trade, got my Master Plumbing license, and moved into a management position, they know that I know what I'm talking about and give me respect as I lead them through the day-to-day task. Just keep working hard. You will always have the naysayers, and it's up to you whether you let them interfere with your goals or you keep pushing forward.
What is an accomplishment that shaped your career? So far, my best accomplishment would be getting my Master Plumbing License. There aren’t many women in this trade, much less women who carry this License. It was and is a huge accomplishment.
What do you want to be doing in 10 years? I would like to be running my own company in the next 10 years.

Your family: I have an amazing little family, my soon-to-be husband (I mean, we have been together for ten years, so he can’t run away now), David keeps me grounded and level-headed. My spunky 17-year-old daughter Kadance is a Junior at Wylie, and she is involved in Volleyball, Track, and Softball. She keeps us very busy. My stepson Junior is an 8th grader, and he loves gaming!
